The year has started out to be an incredibly busy one. During January we were contacted about 22 whippets in need of help. Twelve whippets have moved to their new homes and are settling in well, 7 are now in our foster care, and the others will be moving into our care / to their forever homes over the next couple of weeks.
Whippets come into our care for a wide variety of reasons, but we are starting to see a huge increase in the amount of young whippets needing our help. During January, 5 whippets were under a year old. It’s heartbreaking to see so many whippets needing rescue support, especially puppies, but this is why we are here and why we do what we do.
We are glad that we can be here to support whippets to a happy future and to stop them falling into the wrong hands, but please do think carefully before taking on a pet. Whippets are such an amazing breed, but they can be very full on as youngsters, and they need time, patience, training and a solid routine to help them thrive into nice natured, well socialised and gentle adults.
As always we would like to thank our volunteers, foster carers, transporters, supporters and followers for their continued help and support. We couldn’t do what we do for Whippets without you all .
