Friends of JR Whippet Rescue CIO

Whippets are surrendered to JR Whippet Rescue CIO for many reasons – changes of circumstance being the main reason but sometimes it can be welfare or financial issues.

When a whippet is relinquished into our care we ensure it has a veterinary check and it is neutered. The vet’ check could uncover an underlying and ongoing health issue which we support financially for the rest of the whippet’s life.

Behavioural issues, whether disclosed to us initially or when become apparent after rehoming, are addressed and funded by JR with the help of accredited sighthound behaviourists.

We have a small number of fantastic fosterers who are able to take in whippets who cannot be rehomed directly from the relinquishing household. The fosterers spend time assessing whippets who we have little or no previous history details or who need complex veterinary care.

Please help us care for those whippets surrendered to us by becoming a Friend of JR Whippet Rescue CIO. For a small regular donation, we will send you the Friends of JR Whippet Rescue CIO newsletter, published twice a year in Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. It is full of stories of whippets who have been rehomed, information about the humans who are JR, articles talking about whippet health, fund raising activities and interesting humans who happen to be owned by a whippet – or two.
