Let’s hear it for our boys!

We’ve updated the list of boys currently looking for their forever homes.

Please note that we currently have no girls available for adoption. This year we have seen a much higher number of boys coming into our care, yet the vast majority of applicants still tell us they would prefer a girl and won’t even consider adopting a male.

It’s so sad for these wonderful boys, because they are every bit as loving, loyal and deserving of a forever home.

As I’m sure you’re aware from our regular posts on Facebook, many of the Whippets coming into our care at the moment are also lead reactive. Sadly, this means they are often overlooked, as some adopters feel they can’t put the time and effort into helping a rescue dog overcome their behavioural gremlins, fears and anxieties.

Every dog surrendered into our care deserves a loving forever home. We pride ourselves on responsible rehoming and will only place dogs into homes that are suitable for their individual requirements, temperaments and training needs.

We are always happy to support adopters, and we also work closely with Behaviour by Becca. However, adopters do need to be willing to put the work in to help their rescue Whippet thrive, while also being patient and understanding, rather than expecting an instantly perfect pet to walk through the door.

These dogs have often already been through a lot. They don’t want to instantly be going out to cafés, on camping holidays, meeting family members’ crazy Cockapoos, sharing their home with young children, or being expected to be ‘perfect’.

What they need is stability, routine, patience, love and care, so they are given the opportunity to become dogs that can go on to do all of those things once they feel safe and settled.

Our boys are just as deserving of a chance. If you feel you can offer one of the boys listed below the home they need, please fill in our adoption application form and a member of the team will be in touch. Please also keep an eye on your spam folder for our reply.
