From 1st April 2026, JR Whippet Rescue (charity number 326479) will become JR Whippet Rescue CIO (charity number 1215071) – i.e. a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This is an administrative change and will have no effect on the way that the charity operates on a day-to-day basis. We will continue to support the rescue and rehoming of whippets in need in the same way that we do at present.
However, as a valued supporter, there are some implications we need to make you aware of:
Bank Account – our bank details are changing. Our new bank details are being sent out to Friends of JR Whippet Rescue or those of you who have kindly donated in the past that we have a record of. Please ensure that any regular standing orders or donations are amended to the new account. Our existing account will be closed soon so any payments may be rejected.
Gift Aid – Gift Aid is a vital part of our income as we can claim 25p back for every £1 donated. Legally, this is a new charity so we must ask you to redo any Gift Aid declarations which will replace any that you have completed in the past. We would really appreciate it if you could fill in the received Gift Aid form and return it in the prepaid envelope.
Bequests – Do not worry if you have already mentioned JR Whippet Rescue in an existing will as that will be linked to the new charity. However, any new bequests going forward should quote charity number 1215071.
All contact records will be transferred to the new charity so please let us know if you do not want this to happen and we will remove you from our records.
