Due to some issues people have been having with submitting forms, we have changed the way reCaptcha works on this site. A Captcha is a spam protection mechanism, which we had to introduce due to the large amounts of spam our dedicated rehoming team were being deluged with. Many people will have come across this on websites across the internet. It’s a small challenge set to differentiate bots from real human beings, such as “select the squares with bicycles in”. You can learn more about it here.

Recently we installed the ‘invisible’ reCaptcha V3, which is a hidden method that will detect spam bots if a hidden field is used. However, we have found that it interfered with our email forms such as Donation and Friends of JR Whippet Rescue. This version has been removed and we now use V2, the visible ‘challenge’ method. It is an extra step to take when submitting a form, but sadly a necessary one.
