We just wanted to keep you all updated and let you know that we are exceptionally busy at the moment. So far this month we have had 16 whippets needing to come into our care for rehoming. Many of these are now safely in our foster care, while a few of them are staying with their owners while we find them suitable new homes.
As always we have a number of whippets with behavioural needs looking for homes, mainly severe reactivity or separation anxiety, but we also have a number of older whippets looking for homes. Although they are older, they do still need experienced and understanding homes to help them to settle into a new life and overcome any behavioural challenges.

Sadly the oldies often wait longer to find new homes, as many of the people wanting to adopt are looking for younger dogs. We understand that taking on an oldie can be difficult and heartbreaking, but it is so rewarding to give an oldie a loved, happy and forfilled life in their final months/years. We appreciate that veterinary fees can be daunting too, and we are able to support adopters of oldies with some things. This would be discussed in full detail with potential adopters before adoption took place.
We are currently looking through all adoption applications received in the last 6 months, contacting people and arranging homechecks for those who may be suitable, however we do find that there are very few people willing to help the real oldies or whippets with complex needs, so if you feel that you can, please fill in an adoption application.
More details, including photos of these lovely dogs can be found on our Facebook page.
